abstract FIELD: technological processes.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing terephthalate and benzoate plasticizers of PVC using as feedstock by-products of chemical industries – terephthalic technical watercut acid (TTWA) and stillage residue of rectification 2-ethylhexanol (SRREH). Method is characterized by that of SRREH separation of two alcohol fractions – 2-ethylhexanol at pressure of 8–14 mm Hg and temperature of vapors – 40–110 °C with content of 2-ethylhexanol from 45 to 75 wt% and diol at pressure of 8–14 mm Hg and temperature of vapor 110–200 °C with content of 2,4-diethyl-1,3-octandiol from 25 to 50 wt% – and firstly esterification of pre-dried TTWA 2-ethylhexanol fraction to obtain terephthalate plasticizer and 2-ethylhexyl esters of benzoic and toluic acid, distilled from terephthalate plasticizer at pressure 8–14 mm Hg and temperature of vapors in range of 80–200 °C benzoate fraction containing from 70 to 90 wt% mixture of 2-ethylhexyl esters of toluic and benzoic acids, and the benzoate fraction is re-esterified with a diol fraction, taken from the molar ratio of 2,4-diethyl-1,3-octanediol and esters of benzoic and toluic acid in range of 1:1.5–2.0, at atmospheric pressure and temperature in cube of 180–280 °C with simultaneous distillation of released 2-ethylhexanol fraction, then unreacted compounds are distilled at pressure of 8–14 mm Hg and vapor temperature of 50–200 °C and obtain in the cube a benzoate plasticizer consisting of a mixture of esters of benzoic and toluic acid with 2,4-diethyl-1,3-octandiol.EFFECT: method of producing cheap PVC plasticizers, wider raw material sources, more complete processing of by-products, reduced amount of wastes.4 cl, 1 ex
