abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention refers to production of plasticizer esters used in production of PVC plastics. The method for preparation of dioctyl terephthalate plasticizer comprises esterifying of terephthalic acid by 2-ethylhexanol in the presence of titanium alkoxide catalyst with further solvent distillation, where the raw material is crude terephthalic acid, an intermediate product of purified terephthalic acid production, wherein the reaction mass containing the slurry of crude terephthalic acid and 2-ethylhexanol in a weight ratio of 1:1.7÷2.8 is boiled at a temperature of 180÷200°C with simultaneous distillation of the azeotropic mixture of 2-ethylhexanol and water until water water emission stops completely, and then solvent distillation is conducted at a temperature of 100÷195°C and vacuum of 16÷20 mm Hg. n EFFECT: expansion of raw materials sources for low-cost and high-quality DOTF plasticizer, technology simplification, reduction of production costs. n 1 tbl, 2 ex
