abstract | FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely, to clinical laboratory diagnostics and infectious diseases, and can be used for early prognosis of the nature of the course of acute respiratory infection in children. To do this, when the patient enters the hospital, the neutrophil / lymphocyte ratio, concentration of C-reactive protein is determined. Obtained values are added to the formulas for calculating the linear discriminant function – LDF 1 (uncomplicated course) and LDF 2 (complicated course): LDF1=-0.99+0.4×X1+0.01×X2, LDF2=-7.8+1.1×X1+0.03×X2, where X1 is the neutrophil / lymphocyte ratio; X2 is the concentration of the C-reactive protein. When LDF 1 is greater than LDF 2, uncomplicated course of the disease is predicted, and if LDF 2 is greater than LDF1 – more complicated. n EFFECT: use of this invention makes it possible to diagnose a complicated course of URTI and conduct early therapy with the appointment of antibiotics to prevent the negative consequences of bacterial complications in the group of children with acute respiratory infections. n 1 cl, 2 tbl, 4 ex |
