METHOD OF DIAGNOSTIC OR PREDICTION OF MAIN RESPIRATORY BACTERIAL PATHOGENES IN THE SUBJECT |
abstract |
A method for diagnosing and / or predicting respiratory bacterial infections in a subject, comprising the steps of (a) performing in vitro measurement of the level of one or more markers in the form of (i) urokinase plasminogen activator (uPAR) receptor, (ii) soluble receptor of urokinase plasminogen activator (suPAR) and / or (iii) one or more degradation products (i) or (ii) in a sample of biological fluid from the subject and (b) using the obtained measurement value to assess the condition of the subject. In particular, infections of Streptococcus pneumoniae and Mycobacterium tuberculosis can be diagnosed and / or predicted. |
