FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates a catalyst component for ethylene polymerisation, a method of producing said component, a catalyst and a polymerisation method. The catalyst component includes a reaction product of (1) a magnesium complex, which is a magnesium halide solution in a solvent system; (2) at least one titanium compound of formula Ti(OR) a X b , where R, X, a, b are given in the claim, and (3) at least one organosilicon compound of formula (I), where the values of radicals are given in the claim.
