FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: preparation citicoline is administered for the purpose of preventing cerebral ischemia in precerebral vasculoplasty prior to and after a carotid occlusion. Prior to the occlusion, citicoline is administered in a dose of 2000 mg in 0.9% sodium chloride 400 ml for a period of time sufficient for approaching the operated vessels, and terminated 5-7 minutes prior to the occlusion. After the occlusion, citicoline is administered starting from the second postoperative day for 5-8 days daily once a day, in a dose of 1000 mg in 0.9% sodium chloride 200 ml. n EFFECT: more effective prevention of cerebral ischemia in precerebral vasculoplasty by the empirically selected regimen of the staged administration of citicoline. n 4 ex |
