titleOfInvention Method of producing cellular graphite
abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of coal-graphite materials and can be used in producing flexible foil, anode paste for aluminium electrolysis cells, sealing layers, as sorbents for purifying water and collecting petroleum products. Thermal expanded graphite or cellular graphite is mixed with coal-tar pitch. A ferrosilicon additive and an additive of an iron or cobalt or nickel compound or mixtures thereof is added to the initial mixture. The prepared mixture is poured into a crucible with a ground stopper and the put into a muffle furnace. Catalytic graphitation is carried out at temperature 600-1000°C in a medium of exhaust gases or an inert medium. The crucible is removed from the furnace and cooled.
