titleOfInvention Method of manufacturing high-clean as-s system glasses for core and envelop of monomode and low-aperture multimode light guides
abstract FIELD: fiber optics. n SUBSTANCE: invention provides a method for manufacturing sulfide-arsenic glasses for light guides useful in optics and near and middle IR-region devices. The method comprises synthesis consisting in melting high-purity arsenic and sulfur at 700-800 о С in evacuated two-chamber reactor made of high-clean quartz glass. Reactor is preliminarily annealed in nitrogen atmosphere at temperature not below 900 о С and resultant melt is poured into chambers. Thereafter, core melt and envelop melt are formed, for which purpose a part of melt is distilled from one chamber into the other at 500-720 о С and impermeable quartz glass barrier is formed between envelop and core compositions and then homogenization and solidification of melts follow. n EFFECT: enabled formation of core and envelop glasses from the same melt and solidification of the both under the same conditions ensuring manufacture of pair glasses for core and envelop with desired refractory index differences. n 5 cl, 3 ex
