Methods of making sterile, gelled, solubilized extracellular matrix (ECM) compositions useful as cell growth scaffolds have been provided. The composition may be made prior to implantation or may be administered to the patient in an ungelled form prior to the gelling step in which the composition is gelled in situ. Also provided are the use of the compositions and compositions prepared according to the above methods. In one embodiment, a stabilized, gelled, and solubilized ECM is applied to the prosthesis, including an inorganic matrix that is dispersed to assist in the growth of cells into the ECM and to be applied and / or adhered to the patient. And the like. |
