Controlling the uniformity of pecvd deposition on medical syringes, cartridges, and the like |
abstract |
A method and apparatus for plasma modification of a workpiece such as a medical barrel, a vial, a blood tube. A plasma is provided in the lumen of the workpiece. A plasma is provided under conditions effective to plasma reform the surface of the workpiece. A magnetic field is applied to at least a part of the inner space. The magnetic field has orientation and magnetic field strength that is effective to improve the uniformity of the plasma modification to the generally cylindrical inner surface 16. The invention also provides a container made according to the method or apparatus described above, and a medical barrel or vial for storing the formulation, wherein the pharmaceutical package is tightly anchored with a stopper. |
