abstract The present invention relates to a polarizer and a manufacturing method for the polarizer. More specifically, the polarizer manufacturing method includes the steps of: swelling a polyvinyl alcohol-based film; dying the polyvinyl alcohol-based film; and crosslinking the polyvinyl alcohol-based film. The cross-linking step uses polyvinyl an aqueous cross-linking solution containing C1-C20 hydrocarbon compounds having a boric acid and an aldehyde to maintain the polarization properties greater or equivalent to that of an existing polarizer and significantly increase the heat and moisture resistance.
