Chlorine dioxide formed by supporting chlorine and an alkali agent on an inorganic porous carrier, wherein the amount of alkali agent supported is less than 2 molar equivalents, more than 0.7 molar equivalents, relative to the amount of chlorite supported, and the water content is 10% by weight or less. While deodorizing, disinfecting, removing viruses, preventing mold, or preserving the environment or food, etc., the chlorine dioxide gas can be stably generated over a long period of time without adversely affecting the human body. |
