abstract The present invention relates to a catalyst for epoxidizing olefins to produce olefin oxides, the catalyst comprising a carrier having two or more pore size distributions, each pore size distribution having a different average pore size and a different maximum concentration of pores. Wherein the catalyst further comprises an effective catalytic amount of silver, a promoter amount of rhenium and a promoter amount of at least one alkali metal, wherein the two or more pore size distributions are within a pore size range of about 0.01 m to about 50 m . The present invention also relates to a method for producing olefin oxide by oxidizing olefin using the catalyst.
