abstract |
A method for real-time detection of Salmonella spp. On food and surfaces is disclosed. Salmonella is suspended in the medium to increase cell density prior to analysis. DNA is recovered by lysis in the presence of azide, proteinase K, and detergent. Real-time detection of bacteria of the genus Salmonella is performed by PCR reaction using gene specific primers and cleavable chimeric fluorescent probes. The method also discloses an internal control to confirm the efficiency of nucleic acid amplification and detection. The method can be used for analyzes with rather high throughput. |
