On at least one surface of the polyolefin microporous membrane, a mixed solution containing (a) a gelable fluororesin, (b) its good solvent, and (c) a poor solvent having a dipole moment of 1.8 Debye or less is applied and dried to form a porous material of the fluorine resin. The composite microporous membrane obtained by forming a coating layer made of a sieve has a circumferential through hole formed in the coating layer, and has excellent balance between permeability, adhesion to the electrode, mechanical strength, heat shrinkage property, shutdown property, and meltdown property.
