The nematic liquid crystal composition of this invention is used for the liquid crystal display element of the active-matrix drive system etc. which require high speed and wide viewing angle, such as TV use. Since the said liquid crystal composition is negative in dielectric constant anisotropy, its absolute value is large and its viscosity is low enough, it has the outstanding characteristic of being high-speed response, good display quality, and the display defect being suppressed, and it is suitable as a practical liquid crystal composition. Moreover, the liquid crystal display element using this can be used suitably for liquid crystal display elements, such as VA type. |
