titleOfInvention Strengthening Method of Display Glass
abstract BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a method of strengthening glass for display, and more particularly, an ion radius of ions of glass surfaces for displays, such as liquid crystal display (LCD), plasma display panel (PDP), and field emission display (FED). Small sodium ions are ion-exchanged with potassium ions having a large ion radius, and compressive stress is generated on the surface of the display glass, thereby strengthening the display glass, using an ion exchange solution containing potassium nitrate aqueous solution and zinc oxide powder. It is possible to selectively strengthen the glass surface to be strengthened, and also relates to a method of strengthening the display glass by continuously ion exchanged in a tunnel type continuous kiln.
