abstract The present invention relates to a method for reinforcing silicate glass, and more particularly, in the strengthening of the glass by ion-exchanging sodium ions of silicate glass with potassium ions, coating a slurry of a mixture of an aqueous potassium nitrate solution and zinc oxide powder on the glass surface. The present invention relates to a method for reinforcing silicate glass that solves the deterioration of ion exchange characteristics due to impurities in potassium nitrate while dramatically increasing the productivity of ion exchange using a general electric furnace without a separate ion exchange furnace.
