titleOfInvention | Oligonucleotide primers specific for retrovirus and a method for the quantitation of retroviral titer using same |
abstract | The present invention relates to oligonucleotides specific for retroviruses and a method for measuring retrovirus concentration (titer) using the oligonucleotides as primers of a polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Oligonucleotides having the nucleotide sequences of SEQ ID NO: 6 and SEQ ID NO: 11 specific to some regions of the LTR (long terminal repeat) of the virus and oligonucleotides having the nucleotide sequences of SEQ ID NO: 16 and SEQ ID NO: 17 specific for the packaging signal Nucleotides and oligonucleotide pairs as primers in a quantitative PCR reaction to quantify genomic DNA or RNA of a retrovirus to determine virus concentration. Since the oligonucleotides of the present invention specifically hybridize only to the retroviral genome and show little nonspecific response to the genome of human cells, they can be effectively used as primers such as real-time quantitative PCR for accurate and rapid measurement of retroviral concentrations. . |
