titleOfInvention | Modified polyvinyl alcohol, resin composition and film |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a modified polyvinyl alcohol capable of forming a film having excellent cold water solubility, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance. The present invention relates to a modified polyvinyl alcohol comprising a monomer unit represented by the formula (I) and a structural unit represented by the formula (II), which is a monomer for all the monomer units of the modified polyvinyl alcohol. The content of the unit (I) is 0.05 mol% or more and 10 mol% or less, and the content of the structural unit (II) with respect to all monomer units of the modified polyvinyl alcohol is 0.001 mol% or more and 0.5 mol%. The viscosity average polymerization degree is 300 or more and 3,000 or less, and the saponification degree is 82 mol% or more and 99.5 mol% or less. In formula (I), R 1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group. R 2 is, -R 3 -SO 3 - X + , -R 3 -N + (R 4) 3 Cl - is or a hydrogen atom. R 3 is an alkanediyl group. X + is a hydrogen atom, a metal atom or an ammonium group. R 4 is an alkyl group. |
