abstract | The present invention relates to a production method capable of easily obtaining a novel alicyclic oxetane compound having an oxetane ring, which has excellent light transmittance in the near ultraviolet region and is useful as a cationically polymerizable monomer. This production method is a method in which an aromatic oxetane compound is subjected to nuclear hydrogenation in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst under hydrogen pressure to obtain an alicyclic oxetane compound. For example, when 4,4'-bis[(3-ethyl-oxetane-3-yl)methoxymethyl]biphenyl is used as the aromatic oxetane compound, 4,4'-bis[(3- Ethyl-oxetane-3-yl)methoxymethyl]bicyclohexyl is obtained. |
