abstract PURPOSE: To provide a conditioning agent capable of imparting softness, antistatic property or the like to treated fiber cloth by making the conditioning agent include a specific quaternary amine/anionic surfactant ion-pair and silicone-free wax in a specific content ratio. CONSTITUTION: This conditioning agent is prepared by including (A) 1-99 wt.% quaternary amine/anionic surfactant ion-pair of the formula [wherein, R1 and R2 are each a 16-20C alkyl or alkenyl; R3 is H or CH3 ; the amine is preferably hydrogenated ditallow or distearylamine; A is an alkyl sulfonate, an allyl sulfonate or the like or these ion-pair mixture, preferably a linear 1-20C alkyl sulfonate or the like, more preferably a linear 1-13C alkyl benzene sulfonate or the like] and having 10-300 μm average particle diameter, and (B) 1-99 wt.% silicone-free wax in a content ratio of (1/10)-(10/1) in a mixed state. The conditioning agent can subject fiber to conditioning treatment to impart softness, antistatic property or the like to the fiber.
