abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a composition with excellent flame retardancy, mechanical properties, heat resistance and blooming properties, by adding a brominated phenoxy resin or brominated polycarbonate oligomer and an antimony compound to an aromatic polyester resin. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. of an aromatic polyester is mixed with (B) 1-50pts.wt. of a brominated phenoxy resin of formula I (X is 1-10C alkylene, alkylidene; n is 20 or more), (C) 1-50pts.wt. of at least one selected from (C1) terminal-brominated polycarbonate oligomer of formula II (Y is 1-10C hydrocarbon group, CO; R<1>, R<2> are 6-20C aromatic group which may be substituted; p, q are 1-4; m is 2-20), (C2) brominated polystyrene of formula III (R<3> is H, methyl; s is 1-5; l is 30 or more) and C3) halogenated phenolic condensate and (D) 0.1-20pts.wt. of an antimony compound where the weight ratio of B/C is 95/5-5/95 and the total weight of B and C is less than 60pts.
