abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an auxiliary material excellent in plasticizing capability, low-temperature resistance, non-voltility and migration resistance, low in viscosity and useful as a plasticizer or a diluent for thermoplastic resins, by using a specified ester compound containing an alkenyl group as a component. n CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary material comprising a compound of the formula, wherein X is a 2W20 C aliphatic, alicyclicor aromatic mono- or poly-carboxylic acid residue which may be substituted, R groups are same or different 12W22C alkenyls and n is 1W5). Said compound of the formula can be easily obtained by reacting an alcohol represented by, e.g, R-OH (wherein R is a 12W22C alkenyl) with an aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic mono- or poly-carboxylic acid.
