titleOfInvention Production of d-alpha-amino acid
abstract PURPOSE: To easily and economically produce a D-α-amino acid in high yield at a low cost, by treating a specific compound with a cultured liquid, microbial cell or treated microbial cell of a microorganism belonging to Hansenula genus. n CONSTITUTION: A microorganism such as Hansenula ciferrii is aerobically cultured in a medium containing carbon source, nitrogen source, etc., under aerobic condition at 3W9pH and 15W50°C to obtain a cultured product such as cultured liquid, microbial cell, treated microbial cell, etc. The cultured product is added to an aqueous medium containing 0.1W10wt.% 5-substituted hydantoin of formula I (R 1W2 are -OH or -OCH 3 ) [e.g. DL-5-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)hydantoin] and made to react at 5W9pH and 15W60°C to obtain a D-α-amino acid of formula II (R 1W2 are same as those defined in the formula I). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
