abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a hydrophilic tacky adhesive compsn. which has an excellent balance of adhesiveness and cohesive strength and which comprises a particular polymaltotriose, a particular acrylic polymer, and a water retentive softener. n CONSTITUTION: A tacky adhesive compsn. comprising a polymaltotriose having a chemical structure in which maltotriose units are combined through α-1,6 bonds; at least one acrylic polymer selected from among a homopolymer of acrylic acid, a salt of the homopolymer, a copolymer comprising acrylic acid units as major structural units, and a slat of this copolymer; and a water- retentive softener. In preparing the aforesaid tacky adhesive compsn., a crosslinking agent for an acrylic polymer, such as a polyvalent metal, may be added. Such an acrylic polymer improves the water retentivity of the final tacky compsn.
