titleOfInvention Artificial mucus
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an artificial mucus which has an improved resistance to disconnection of liquid thread and lowering in viscosity, and excellent water retention, by dissolving a water-soluble high-molecular material whose aq. soln. exhibits stringiness, and a specified water-soluble polysaccharide, protein or a vinyl polymer in water. n CONSTITUTION: An artificial mucus is obtd. by dissolving a water-soluble high- molecular material (A) whose aq. soln. exhibits stringiness and a water-soluble polysaccharide, water-soluble protein or a water-soluble vinyl polymer (B) which does not exhibit stringiness, in water in such a proportion that the component A gives a concn. of 0.001W5W/V% and the component B gives a concn. of 0.001W10W/V%. Generally, the concn. of the water-soluble high-molecular material (A) is 0.001W5W/V% and the concn. of the water-soluble polymer (B) is 0.001W10W/V%. Generally, 0.5W200pts.wt. water-soluble polymer (B) is used per pt.wt. water-soluble high-molecular material (A). When the soln. is used as lubricating oil, 0.5W10pts.wt. component B is used per pt.wt. component A. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
