NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (X represents H or halogen atom; A and B are as follows; A is H and B is OH or A and B link to form a bond; R 1 and R 2 represent alkyl, alkynyl or alkenyl; R 3 represents H or protecting group of OH, provided that R 2 is not 2-octenyl, 8-acetoxy-2-octenyl or 2,5-octadienyl). n EXAMPLE: 2-Chloro-4-hydroxy-4-octyl-5-(1-hydroxy-6-carboxyhexyl)-2-cyclopente none. n USE: A carcinostatic agent exhibiting same or better antitumor action than well- known naturally occurring clavulones or punaglandins, and further exhibiting antiviral, antimicrobial action, etc. n PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II (R 21 is same as R 2 ; R 31 represents protecting group of OH) and aldehydes expressed by formula III (R 11 is same as R 1 ) are subjected to aldol condensation reaction, and, as necessary, to deprotection and hydrolysis reaction to obtain the compound expressed by formula I wherein A is H and B is OH. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
