abstract PURPOSE:The titled composition having improved suppressing effects on body smell free from skin irritation in application to skin parts such as the armpit, feet or the crotch apt to give out an offensive smell, containing a polylysine as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A skin deodorant composition containing a polylysine as an active ingredient. As the polylysine, alpha-polylysine wherein an amino group and a carboxyl group at the alpha position are condensed and epsilon-polylysine wherein an amino group and a carboxyl group at the epsilon position are condensed exist and the epsilon-polylysine is preferable as the skin deodorant composition. In use, the composition is made into a fine powder state and directly used or blended with a carrier or dissolved in a liquid and used as a liquid spray. The amount of the polylysine for once is 1-50mg based on 100cm<2>. The epsilon-polylysine is produced by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces under an aerobic condition.
