abstract PURPOSE:A hair-tonic cosmetic that contains gamma -amino-beta-hydroxybutyric acid, thus activating keratogenous cells to accelerate hair growth (growth acceleration of mouse and human hair), manifest hair tonic effect and prevent depilation and dandruff. CONSTITUTION:A hair-tonic cosmetic such as hair lotion or hair cream is com bined with (A) 0.05-2.0wt% based on the total weight, of gamma -amino-beta- hydroxybutyric acid which is known as a remedy for cerebral arteriosclerosis, preferably in addition, with (B) at least one of blood circulation-promoting substances selected from Swertiae essence, ginseng essence, litchi essence, vita min E nicotinate and benzyl nicotinate to give the objective hair-tonic dosmetic which shows excellent hair-tonic and depilation-preventing effects as well as normalization of scalp metabolism to prevent dandruff. Thus, it is used for male psilosis.
