abstract PURPOSE:To provide a hair tonic containing gamma-aminobutyric acid and methyl N- trimethyl-gamma-aminobutyrate chloride, and having excellent effect. CONSTITUTION:The objective hair tonic contains gamma-aminobutyric acid and methyl N-trimethyl-gamma-aminobutyrate chloride which is an ester of the above acid. The a above compound is effective to increase the local blood flow in the brain (increase in temperature), increase the rates of enzyme consumption and glycolysis, promote the cerebral function, increase the acetylcholine production, activate the cell division of the hair-matrix cell, etc., and gives unique synergistic hair tonic effect.
