abstract PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical preparation manifesting medicinal effects immediately after administration and for a long period, comprising sustained release spherical particles containing 5-(2-hydroxy-3-t-butylaminopropoxy)-3,4- dihydrocarbostyril and an immediate release component containing the compound. n CONSTITUTION: (A) Sustained release spherical particles consisting of 97W75wt% particles of raw material for preparation which contains 5-(2-hydroxy-3-t- butylaminopropoxy)-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril or an acid addition salt thereof and a spherical particle shape (preferably 0.25W2mm diameter) and 3W25wt% sustained release film-forming component coating the particles, comprising 100W65wt% lower alkyl cellulose and 0W35wt% water-soluble high polymer coating agent and (B) an immediate release component containing the raw material for preparation and the water-soluble high polymer coating agent in an active ingredient ratio of A: 60W90 titer % and B: 4W10 titer %.
