titleOfInvention | Emulsion and use thereof |
abstract | PURPOSE: To provide an emulsified liquid capable of increasing its viscosity by the dissolution of fine powder of a water-soluble polymer instantaneously by the addition of water to an emulsion produced by dispersing the fine powder in an aromatic or a aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent or a mixture of the solvent and a stock emulsion containing emulsifier. n CONSTITUTION: Fine powder of a water-soluble polymer (e.g. methylcellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, starch, etc.) having particle diameter of about 100 mesh is dispersed in an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent (e.g. Solvent K73) or an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent (e.g. kerosine) or a mixture of the solvent and a stock emulsion containing an emulsifier. When water is added to the emulsion produced by the above process, dispersed fine particle is instantaneously dissolved to obtain a thickened emulsified liquid in which a thickener polymer is uniformly dissolved and diffused in the liquid. The emulsified liquid is useful for the application to an insecticidal agent to give an agent which can be safely applied without causing misting because of its high viscosity. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
