PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. having excellent impact resistance, appearance, etc., by blending a polyethylene terephthalate resin prepd. by using a germanium compd. as a polymn. catalyst with an olefin copolymer having glycidyl groups. n CONSTITUTION: A dicarboxylic acid component mainly composed of terephthalic acid is reacted with a diol component mainly composed of ethylene glycol in the presence of germanium compd. (e.g., germanium dioxide, germanium tetraethoxide) as a polymn. catalyst to produce a thermoplastic polyester. 100pts. wt. thermoplastic polyester is blended with 0.5W80pts.wt. olefin copolymer having glycidyl groups (e.g., an ethylene/glycidyl methacrylate copolymer, a propylene/glycidyl acrylate copolymer) to obtain the desired molding polyethylene terephthalate resin compsn. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
