USE:An optical recording material. The compound has high solubility in organic solvent, is applicable by coating and has high reflectance, contrast and resistance to light and reproduced light. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting the benzene derivative to formula III with 3,4-dihydroxy-3-cyclobutene-1,2-dione of formoula IV in a solvent such as methanol, benzene, etc., at 70-150 deg.C, preferably 90-120 deg.C.
