titleOfInvention Production of optically active cyclopentenone derivative
abstract PURPOSE: To readily obtain the titled substance useful as an intermediate for agricultural chemicals, raw material for prostaglandin derivatives having various pharmacological action, etc., by reacting a readily available optically active 2-propargyl-4-hydroxy-2-cyclopentenone with an acylating agent, etc. n CONSTITUTION: Optically active 2-propargyl-4-hydroxy-2-cyclopentenone as a raw material is reacted with an acylating agent, e.g. saturated or unsaturated organic carboxylic acid anhydride, etc., or etherifying agent, e.g. trimethylsilyl chloride or vinyl ethyl ether, etc., in the presence or absence of a solvent using a catalyst at -30W+100°C, preferably -25W+80°C to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I (R is acyl or etherifying gent residue). The above- mentioned raw material can be readily synthesized by hydrolyzing a dl- cyclopentenone ester expressed by formula II (R' is alkyl, etc.) with esterase. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
