abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent durability, runnability, electromagnetic conversion characteristic, shelf life of a magnetic coating compd. and dispersibility of ferromagnetic powder by incorporating ≥1 kinds of specific urethane acrylate or urethane methacrylate compds. as a binder into magnetic layer on a nonmagnetic base and irradiating radiation thereto. n CONSTITUTION: ≥1 kind of the prescribed urethane acrylate or urethane methacrylate compds. are incorporated as the binder into the magnetic layer of the magnetic recording medium mainly consisting of the nonmagnetic base and magnetic layer and are cured by the irradiation of the radiation (more preferably electron rays). The compds. have 2,000W20,000mol.wt. in which the number of the side chains (the number of the groups having ≥500mol.wt. from the coupling point of the side chains up to the terminal included of both terminals of the main chain) is ≥3 pieces, the number of the acryloyl group or methacryloyl group is ≥3 pieces/molecule, the position of the acryloyl group or methacryloyl group is at the terminal of the main chain and the terminal of the side chains and ≥1 pieces of COOH group are contained in one molecule. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
