titleOfInvention | Production of polyester |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polymer containing a large amount of uniform fine particles and capable of giving a film having improved abrasion resistance, etc., by preparing a slurry containing specific particles prepared outside of the polyester synthetic reaction system and adding the slurry to the reaction system prior to the initiation of the polycondensation reaction. n CONSTITUTION: Terephthalic acid (derivative) is made to react with an alkali metal compound and/or alkaline earth metal compound outside of the synthetic reaction system of polyester, the reaction product is dissolved in ethylene glycol, and particulate substance insoluble in the polyester reaction system (preferably SiO 2 , etc.) is dispersed in the above solution to obtain a particle-containing slurry. Terephthalic acid (ore its ester-forming derivative) and a glycol are subjected to ester-exchange reaction, and the particle-containing slurry produced by the above process is added to the polyester reaction system at an arbitrary stage prior to the initiation of the polycondensation reaction. Thereafter, the polycondensation reaction is carried out to obtain the objective polymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
