titleOfInvention Low/high temperature handler employing electronic cooler
abstract PURPOSE: To enable the setting temperature at a low/high temperature testing of an IC in a short time and at a low cost, by providing an cooling mechanism for absorbing heat generated from a Peltier element during the cooling and an air curtain for preventing dew formation during the cooling. n CONSTITUTION: An IC4 to be measured fed from an IC supply magazine 11 is cooled by a cooling effect of a Peltier element 5 of a cooling section 3 and a temperature sensor 6 detects the temperature of the cooling section 3. A water cooling mechanism 7 absorbs heat generated during the cooling due to the Peltier element 5 and the time is reduce until the heat reaches the set target value. On the other hand, an air of a fixed pressure is fed to an air jet port 9 and an air curtain shuts down the perimeter of the cooling section 3 to eliminate temperature difference between the cooling section 3 and the perimeter thereof, which prevents dew formation at the cooling section 3. Then, a temperature characteristic test is performed for the IC4 being measured with a test head 10 of a measuring section 2 and thus, it is distributed to an accepted product holding magazine 14 and a rejected project holding magazine 13. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
