abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula [X represents H, R (R represents alkyl, aryl, etc. herein) or RCO; Y represents H, R, RCO, RCS, RSO 2 , ROSO 2 , etc.; Z represents OH, RO, RS, RNH, HONH, RONH, etc.; except those derivatives wherein Z represents OH, p-nitrobenzyloxy, benzyloxy or pentachlorophenyloxy, and X is H, and Y is t-butyloxy-carbonyl; Z is benzyloxy, and X is H, and Y is benzyloxy-carbonyl]. n USE: A hypotensor. n PREPARATION: For example, an amino-protected alanine is reacted with a carboxyl-protected proline to prepare alanylproline, and a carboxyl-protecting group thereof is eliminated.
