titleOfInvention Optical resin and its production
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled resin excellent in heat resistance, high refractive index, low shrinkage, weather resistance, mold release, etc., by polymerizing a monomer feed based on a specified fumarate diester. n CONSTITUTION: A fumarate diester (A) of the formula (wherein R 1W2 are each a 1W12C alkyl or a 3W12C cycloalkyl) or a mixture thereof with (B) an allyl group-containing crosslinking monomer (e.g., diallyl fumarate) and/or (C) a radical-polymerizable vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene) in a weight ratio of A to B of 99/1W10/90 and a weight ratio of A to C of 95/5W70/30 is mixed with at most 10wt%, based on the total monomers, organic peroxide or azo compound having a specified 10hr-half-life temperature ≤100°C as a polymerization initiator (e.g., diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate), poured directly into a desired mold and cured by heating at 30W100°C for 10W40hr in an inert gas atmosphere (e.g., N 2 ). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
