abstract PURPOSE: A controlling agent, containing a phosphatidic acid as an active constituent, capable of exhibiting improved controlling effect on blast of rice plants, powdery mildew of vegetables, gray mold of decorative plants, e.g. petunia, having high safety without fear of environmental pollution and useful as an agricultural chemical. n CONSTITUTION: A plant blight controlling agent containing a phosphatidic acid or a derivative thereof, e.g. phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl inositol, phosphatidyl choline or phosphatidyl serine, present in animal and plant tissues and having characteristics as a safe nonpollution agricultural chemical without any environmental pollution as an active constituent. The above-mentioned active constituent may be directly applied or formulated with a carrier or adjuvant into a dosage form, e.g. wettable powder, emulsion or dust.
