titleOfInvention Electrically conductive polymer composition having positive temperature coefficient characteristic
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. having excellent stability, moisture resistance and PTC characteristics and suitable for use as a material for the heater of a heating system, consisting of a crystalline polyalkylene oxide, a modified polyolefin and electrically conductive carbon black and/or graphite. n CONSTITUTION: 30W80% (by weight; the same applies hereinbelow) crystalline polyalkylene oxide (A) such as polyethylene oxide having an MW of 10,000W500,000, 30W5% modified polyolefin (B) contg. 0.01W15% (based on the quantity of polyolefin) COOH group and/or carboxylic acid anhydride group in its main chain and/or on its side chain, obtd. by grafting an unsaturated carboxylic acid (an hydride) (e.g. maleic anhydride) onto a polyolefin, 45W15% electrically conductive carbon black (e.g. acetylene black) and/or graphite (e.g. natural graphite) (C) and optionally, not more than 40% (based on the combined quantity of components A, B and C) inorg. or org. filler (D) (e.g. CaCO 3 or arom. polyamide fiber) are blended together. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
