titleOfInvention | Preparation of hyaluronic acid |
abstract | PURPOSE: In the production of hyaluronic acid with a bacterium, to obtain hyaluronic acid having a small amount of protein admixed, by cultivating a bacterium capable of producing hyaluronic acid, bringing the prepared mold into contact with a saccharide. n CONSTITUTION: A bacterium such as Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus equi, etc., capable of producing hyaluronic acid, is cultivated in a common culture solution. The prepared mold is washed with water or a sodium chloride injection, or treated with a crosslinking agent such as glutaraldehyde, etc. and/or an organic solvent such as benzene, toluene, etc., and suspended in a buffer solution at 6W8.5pH. A saccharide such as glucose, fructose, sucrose, etc. is added to the suspension with aeration and stirring, the saccharide is in contact with the mold for a given time, and prepared hyaluronic acid is extracted from the reacton solution by a well-known method. Hyaluronic acid is important as an intercellular substance to fill up gaps between cells, and since it has water retention it is useful as a remedy for wound, eyewash, remedy for arthritis, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio |
