PURPOSE:An emulsified cosmetic, obtained by incroporating a protein based emulsifying agent obtained by bonding the amino moiety of an alkyl ester of an amino acid to the terminal carboxyl groups of a hydrophilic protein hudrolyzate as an emulsifying agent therein, and having sufficient water holding property with little irritation. CONSTITUTION:An emulsified cosmetic, e.g. a cream, obtained by incorporating a protein based emulsifying agent as an emulsifying agent. The above-mentioned protein based emulsifying agent is obtained by bonding the amino moiety of an alkyl ester of an amino acid to the terminal carboxyl groups of a hydrophilic protein hydrolyzate. For example, the emulsifying agent is obtained by reacting an amino acid, e.g. glycine or leucine, with a 14-20C alcohol to synthesize an alkyl ester of the amino acid, e.g. oleyl ester of leucine, and subjecting the resultant ester to the enzymic reaction with a hydrophilic protein, e.g. casein, gelatin or sericin, in the presence of endopeptidase. The resultant emulsifying agent has a powerful emulsifying ability, and the amount thereof to be used can be reduced. |
