abstract PURPOSE: To produce a nutrient food such as drink, cake, etc. having fatigue- relieving, health-promoting, physical constitution-improving, and tonic activities, by using two or more materials selected from the extract of Eleutherococcus, pangamic acid and octacosanol as essential components. n CONSTITUTION: The objective nutrient food is prepared by compounding a food with two or more materials selected from (A) the extract of Eleutherococcus having antistress, antibacterial, carcinostatic, metabolism-improving and tonic activities and obtained by extracting the root skin of Eleutherococcus senticosus (a kind of bush) with water and concentrating and purifying the extract, (B) pangamic acid effective to neutralize the poison, elongate the life of cells, improve the efficiency of enzymatic action in the body, suppress the formation of jecur adiposum, and control the steroid in blood, and obtained by extracting the stone of plum, rice gluten, yeast, blood by a bull, and liver of a horse with water, and fractionating and purifying the extract, and (C) octacosanol having tonic effect and existing in the leaves of wheat, skin of apple, cotton wax, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
