abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a molding having excellent mechanical properties without carrying out predrying, by molding a linear satd. polyester in the presence of a specified ionic copolymer. n CONSTITUTION: A metal salt of an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid /α-olefin copolymer (e.g. an ionic copolymer contg. 1W30mol% of the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid unit wherein at least 40mol% of carboxyl groups are present in the form of mono- to trivalent metal salts) is used. 0.5W20pts.wt. said ionic copolymer (e.g. a sodium salt of an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer having an MW of 4,000) is blended with 100pts.wt. linear satd. polyester composed of an arom. dicarboxylic acid and an aliph. or alicyclic diol (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate).
