titleOfInvention Preparation of alpha-l-aspartyl-l-phenylalaninemethyl ester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled substance useful as a sweetener with low calorie industrially advantageously, by hydrolyzing partially benzyl-carboxymethyl- diketopiperazine with a strong acid in a mixed solvent consisting of methanol and water. n CONSTITUTION: 3-Benzyl-6-carboxymethyl-2,5-diketopiperazine(α-AP.DKP for short) is partially hydrolyzed with a strong acid preferably hydrohalogenic acid such as hydrochloric acid, etc.) in a mixed solvent of methanol and water (in a molar ratio of preferably 0.01W1.0) at 20W80°C, to give the desired compound. The concentration of the strong acid is preferably ≤10M/l. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
