abstract NEW MATERIAL:The phthalazone derivative of formula (R and R' are 1W12C alkyl). n EXAMPLE: 4-Acetoxymethyl -2-acetyl -7-ethoxycarbonyl-6,8-dimethyl-1( 2H )-phthalazone. n USE: Useful as a bioprecursor of phthalazinol which is a remedy effective to the subjective symptoms of the sequela of cerebrovascular disorder, the psychic symptoms, the central pain, etc. Although the compound has no physiological activity, it is converted to phthalazinol in the living body, and furthermore, it has higher solubility, absorbability to the body, and metabolic properties than phthalazinol. n PROCESS: The compound of formula can be prepared, e.g. by using phthalazinol (known compound) as a starting compound, and reacting with a 1W12C carboxylic acid anhydride, halide, etc. preferably in a solvent such as pyridine. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
