abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R 1 is H, CN, halogen, alkyl, ethynyl, etc.; R 2 is H, CN, alkoxyl, (substituted) alkyl, etc.; R 3 is H, alkoxyl, etc.; R 4 is H or alkyl; R 5 is R 4 or halogen; R 6 and R 7 are R 4 ; Z is O, NR 8 (R 8 is H or alkyl), NHCO, etc.; Y is NH 2 , formula VIII; n is 1 or 2] and a salt thereof. n EXAMPLE: 1-( 2-Ethynylphenoxy )-3-[1,1-dimethyl-2-( 3-hydrazino-6-pyridazinyloxy ) ethylamino]-2-propanol. n USE: A hypotensive agent having improved vasodilator action and mostly improved β-blocking action. n PROCESS: A compound of formula II obtained from a compound expressed by formula III as a starting material according to the reaction formulas is reacted with hydrazine or hydrate thereof to give the compound of formula I in which Z is O.
